Fishing for a Cause

At Port Freeport, community impact is at the heart of everything we do. Through TACFT, hundreds of families gather each year to enjoy the outdoors while helping neighbors in need. The two can entry fees collected from every participant are donated directly to the Brazoria County Dream Center, making a lasting difference beyond tournament day.

Since 2014, the Dream Center has been grateful to receive food donations from Port Freeport's Take A Child Fishing Tournament. This partnership has brought in over 7,200 pounds of food—providing more than 6,000 meals to families who rely on our Pantry. The event teaches more than just fishing; it fosters generosity, community, and joy among kids. Watching their excitement as they fish and enjoy the outdoors makes this event truly inspiring year after year.
