Security Requirements for Port Entry

For access to the port, you must have a driver’s license, TWIC card and auto insurance. If you don’t have a TWIC card, please refer to our security guidelines for more information.

For other government approved Identification for port entry please refer to our security guidelines.

Safety Requirements While on Port Property

Safety Vest, Outer Wear and Shirts: Must meet the hi-vis ANSI Class 2 Type R requirement or higher. Approved permitted colors at Port Freeport are Orange, Yellow, Lime Green and Pink. This apparel must be worn when outside of a vehicle or facility (offices on Port Freeport property).

Required safety vests can be purchased at Gate 4, 8, and 12, at the security check-in at the Non-TWIC lot across from Gate 8, and at Dole’s interchange next to Gate 8.

Foot Protection: Required footwear (close-toed shoes at a minimum) must be worn for the work being performed. Open-toed footwear is allowed from private vehicles to offices on Port Freeport property, when parked next to the facility. Open-toed footwear is not acceptable outside of offices.

Head Protection: Head protection is required in designated areas or when there is any work being done overhead.
