At Port Freeport, you’ll enjoy quick access to and from the terminal and work with a team that cares about handling your project responsibly with a focus on satisfaction.

Port Freeport Dedication
Port Freeport has a dynamic team that is always willing to assist with your breakbulk, project and heavy lift cargo needs. The port works with various stevedoring, terminal handling and heavy lift/heavy haul companies to make these moves possible.
Port Freeport understands that every project requires a curated plan, and the port staff will work with you every step of the way to ensure your equipment is handled with care.
Breakbulk, Project and Heavy Lift Cargo can be handled at either of the port’s main terminals. i.e., Velasco Terminal and the Inner Habor. These types of cargo arrive to or depart from the port via RORO, Multipurpose or Heavy Lift Vessel. The port’s Tenant, Tenaris, one of the world’s largest suppliers of steel pipe for the energy sector regularly receives round steel bars by barge or vessel that are then hauled over an oversized/overweight corridor from Freeport, Texas to Bay City, Texas to feed a world scaled pipe mill in the adjacent Matagorda County. Another port Tenant, Rivianna Foods, imports and exports rice in breakbulk. The bulk rice is loaded into super sacks and then is lifted to a multipurpose vessel.
The Inner Harbor and Velasco Container Terminal are just a few miles from the U.S. Gulf and about a 1-hour transit from the pilot’s station to the inner harbor. Both public terminals are served by the Freeport Harbor Channel.
Port Freeport continues to expand its marshalling, and storage yards and offers both concrete and aggregate paved yard outside storage or warehouse storage for cargo needing to escape the elements.
After using Port Freeport and working with an amazing team, Port Freeport will be your go-to port for all your logistics needs.
As one of the first customers of Port Freeport, we have seen the area grow to become one of the busiest hubs serving the greater Houston area. Our dock at Port Freeport has played a very important role in our domestic business for more than 10 years, and their team continues to be a great partner for Tenaris
